French word du jour: Jumelage-- Twinning. As in, Jumelage de Deauville, the Twinning Committee of Deauville. We'd call this a Sister Cities Committee.
Today I received an e-mail from Caen's "service financier" that confirmed that I am, indeed, departing on the correct date. I am more relieved than I could possibly say!
Emilie, a facebook friend from Caen (who reads this blog!), told me to go to this website to learn more about the city. It looks lovely, doesn't it? I can't wait to be there in 16 days! She, and other students from Caen, have been very helpful in making me as at ease as possible, and I'm not even there yet. I am so thankful for that.

I randomly passed by your blog while looking at the Anathallo one. The music video for Entropy was one my friend did, I was linked to the entry. Saw comments = trail to you. I am the bearded fellow in that video.
Interestingly, I've just returned from living / working in Languedoc-Roussillon for three months, so I can relate to your trip.
I hope you don't mind me popping in occasionally to read about what's happening on the vieux continent.

I have a couple of recommendations for you, the first being to join Couchsurfing.com, and look around in the region for Couchsurfers. This site changed my entire séjour.
The second is (I saw Deauville, I must tell you about this) to go to Honfleur, which is one of the most beautiful cities I've been to in France. I'd venture to say 50% of its businesses are art galleries, and it's just a hop, skip and a jump from where you'll be.
